Learning, Critical Thinking and Impact Evaluation

Using and building upon ethical and sustainable interaction standards within the craft sector, we work to contribute to the growth of an industry that values cultural knowledge sets, skills and traditions.

We work to foster a collaborative craft sector, creating space for disciplinary and cross-boarder interactions through resource sharing and engagement opportunities.

We understand the importance of craft, and approach the industry critically to ensure our engagements are impact driven.  We work through education, facilitate resarch, and encourage impact evaluations across all of our pojects.

FOCUS

We recognize the importance of the ongoing discussions on the role of craft in the contemporary market, specifically across the Middle East and Africa.  Our focus is on three key areas.

Craft in all its forms, specifically the intersection between between craft and design practices, and how these contribute to the unique national, regional and global material cultural narratives.

Craft as it contributes significantly to the social and economic well-being of communities, specifically as a medium for socio-economic mobility, strengthens historical and cultural connections and the role it plays in building a stronger future.

Craft as it exists across nations, how it can facilitate exchange and act as a catalyst for building cross-boarder relations. Craft as a dynamic component of contemporary culture, and the significance beyond its materiality, found in process, skill and intention.
