A specialized collection of books, journals, and resources dedicated to the study, preservation, and celebration of craft traditions, cultural heritage, and the intersections of art, design, and craftsmanship.

We're looking for suggestions! Any publications we should include? Send us your list. The Middle East and Africa Craft Centre library includes literature on:

  • Historical Texts - documenting the origins, evolution and significance of various crafts and materials across different societies

  • Technical Guides - offering practical instructions and insights on craft techniques, materials, and tools

  • Cultural Studies - exploring the relationship between craft and identity, community, and social practices

  • Art and Design Theory - addressing the role of craft in modern and contemporary art movements, aesthetics, and design.  

  • Anthropological and Sociological Works - examining craft as a cultural practice, its economic and social impact and its role in global trade and sustainability
